Team Wild TV expert Lucas Micallef shares his account of the IWA Outdoor Classic 2016.
One of the most sought after and interesting periods of the year for the gun trade industry took place between the 4th and 7th March 2016 in Nuremberg, Germany.
The IWA Outdoor Classic is regarded as the international trade fair for hunting, shooting sports and outdoor equipment. Over 1,455 exhibitors from all over the world, with over 43,000 trade visitors from more than 120 nations travelled to the exhibition center this year.
Exhibitors displayed both proven and innovative products in three main segments – Target Sports, Nature Activities and Protecting People. Subjects that are featured range from hunting and sporting weapons, ammunition and optics, outdoor clothing, backpacks, knives and binoculars, equipment for official use and self-defence.
An attractive and interesting platform this year was where trade visitors can learn about what goes on in gunsmiths’ workshops. Gun making schools also demonstrated their amazing craftsmanship, displaying what they can offer in the way of training courses, with the theme of ‘Tradition meets modernity’.
On my arrival to the Realtree International stand, a handful of visitors were taking photos of a particular display, a wedding dress in Realtree AP Snow Camo.
Whilst on the stand I met many awesome people within the industry, I also caught up with some of my colleagues from the UK, who I must say are impressively dedicated to their work.
During my time at the IWA Outdoor Classic I visited various stands all over the 10 exhibition halls. There was an incredible amount of products using the various Realtree camouflage patterns, this made me feel proud very brand to be involved directly to this amazing international brand.
