With their epic adventure fast approaching, Ian Harford and Steve Wild head to Wales for some expert shooting coaching with Andrew Venables of WMS Firearms Training.
Welcome to episode 2 of Wild Boar Road Trip – Hungary on Team Wild TV.
Previously, Ian and Steve spent the day getting familiar with the equipment that they will be taking on their road trip to go wild boar shooting in Hungary. In this episode, they will be setting their rifles up ready for driven wild boar hunting.
The three rifles that they will be shooting are the Blaser R8 Professional Success in 300 Win Mag with a Hawke Frontier 30 1-6×24. The Sauer 404 in 338 Win Mag topped with the Hawke Endurance 30 1-4×24. In addition, they also have something a little different, the Howa 1500 in 308 with a GRS Berserk stock and Hawke Reflex Red-dot Sight. With the expert advice of Andrew Venables, Ian and Steve will put the rifles into practice, shooting driven and moving targets.
The day has been split into three stages, beginning with checking the zeros of the rifles. Moving onto freestanding target shooting from 50, 100 and 200 metres. Finally, practicing their shooting skills on the moving boar target. This is the perfect opportunity to hone their shooting skills and prepares for the challenges they’ll face whilst out in the Hungarian wilderness.
Now feeling confident with each rifle and the targets they will face when wild boar shooting in Hungary, Ian and Steve are almost ready to begin their epic trip. Next time on Wild Boar Road Trip – Hungary, Ian and Steve share their essential equipment.
